Republic of Haiti>> The Artibonite River is the longest river on the island of Hispaniola. The river provides energy, irrigation and drinking water for a large segment of Haiti’s population and supports two thirds of Haiti’s rice production. Retaining walls and flood control structures are needed to protect farmland and rural settlements. Caribe Engineering designed riverbank protection structures for the Department of Agriculture and assisted contractor Southport Dredging in pre-construction planning for projects at various locations along the Artibonite River and the Port of Saint Marc. |
